Pastor Tim dives into a topic many churches don’t like to touch on. Sin. He teaches on two types, habitual and generational sin. Instead of being a teaching on condemnation when many speak about sin, Pastor Tim guides how to break free from the hold sin can have on us. Regardless if its something we do ourselves or something that has been passed on through our predecessors. Listen today and be encouraged and challenged for God.

Habitual Sin
Many people have been caught in the trap of sin-confess-sin-confess. They can’t seem to break the cycle of sin
from their lives.
Seek out a brother or a sister, strong in the Lord, who will hold you up in prayer and to whom you can be
accountable.
Whether we need the help of others or just the accountability of God, it may help to pray this prayer.
Dear heavenly Father, You have told us to put on the Lord Jesus Christ and make no provision for the flesh in regard to its lusts. Romans 13:14, But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts. I acknowledge that I have given in to fleshly lusts which wage war against my soul. 1 Peter 2:11, Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul, I thank You that in Christ my sins are forgiven, but I have transgressed Your holy law and given the enemy an opportunity to wage war in my members. Ephesians 4:27, nor give place to the devil. James 4:1, Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? 1 Peter 5:8, Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. I come before Your presence to acknowledge these sins and to seek Your cleansing, 1 John 1:9, If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. that I may be freed from the bondage of sin.
Galatians 5:1, Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. I now ask you to reveal to my mind the ways that I have transgressed Your moral law. I now confess these sins to You and claim through the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ my forgiveness and cleansing. I cancel all ground that evil spirits have grained through my willful involvement in sin. I ask this in the wonderful -name of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Generational Sin
To be free from generational sin we must renounce the sins of our ancestors and any curses which may have been placed
on us.
What is your family heritage? I tell you this, the devil doesn’t want to give up his territory and will try to interrupt us when we take authority over them.
Many of us come from different backgrounds; cultic religions or just a legalistic background, satanic cults or even drunken or abusive parents and even adopted children can be subject to generational demonic strongholds. But all of us can become a new creation in Christ.
If we are the victim of any abuse, ritual abuse or otherwise, we may need to seek the help of a skillful counselor who understands demonic strongholds.
In order to help us walk free from our past influences, we can pray the following prayer:
Dear heavenly Father, I come to You as Your child, purchased by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. I
here and now reject and disown all the sins of my ancestors. As one who has been delivered from the power of darkness and translated into the kingdom of God’s dear Son, I cancel out all demonic working that has been passed on to me from my ancestors. As one who has been crucified and raised with Christ and who sits with Him in heavenly places, I
reject any and every way in which Satan may claim ownership of me. I declare myself to be eternally and completely signed over and committed to the Lord Jesus Christ. I now command every familiar spirit and every enemy of the Lord Jesus Christ that is in or around me to flee my presence and never return. I now ask You, heavenly Father, to fill me
with Your Holy Spirit. I submit my body as an instrument of righteousness, a living sacrifice, that I may glorify You in my body. All this I do in the name and authority of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
One victory does not constitute winning the war. But many victories are the mark of a successful warrior. Freedom must be maintained. We will stay free as long as we remain in right relationship with God. Be encouraged, we know how to get right with God again.
Stand firm and resist him. This is a winnable war! In fact, our victory is secure in Christ. If we find refuge in Him.
