Sermon – Pastor Tim – Changing Your Circumstances

Changing Your Circumstances

April 6, 2014 – Pastor Tim – “Changing Your Circumstances”

Psalm 107:20, He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.  The New Living Translation says it this way, He sent out His Word and healed them, snatching them from the door of death.

I remember when I was a youth pastor someone asked me, “If you believe in divine healing, why are you always sick?”  I didn’t have an answer for that.  So I started studying and teaching on divine healing, the power of God to deliver, and I stopped being sick all the time.  That is what happens when the Word of God is studies and preached.  When it becomes the confession of our mouth and life. The Word of God does its work, when applied in faith.

We are affected by the words we hear—whether it’s truth or untruth.  We could listen to someone talk who is worried and oppressed.  And when we leave their presence, we can feel oppressed ourselves.  Some people are so full of doubt and unbelief that the very atmosphere around them is charged with darkness.  That kind of atmosphere is created by words. 1 John 1:7; But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

Thank God for the Word of God!  His Word is His will.

Psalm 107:20, He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.

>Let’s talk about the Word of God (and I don’t mean just today but every day).   Let’s talk about healing from the standpoint of God’s Word (not just that this moment but every moment of our lives). God is a healing God, spiritually, mentality, physically.

1 Thessalonians 5: 23, Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

As a believer we speak the Word of God.  As a believer we speak faith-filled, life-filled Words that change the circumstances around us.  We must refuse to speak doubt and unbelief. Amen!

God not only laid our iniquities upon Jesus, but our diseases as well.  Settle that in your heart.  Jesus was made sick with our diseases.  He was made sin for our sins.

2 Corinthians 5:21, …He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

In the mind of God our Father and His Son, Jesus, our diseases and sins were borne by the Lord Jesus Christ Himself.

2 Peter 2:21-24, For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps:
22 “Who committed no sin,
Nor was deceit found in His mouth”;
23 who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously;  24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.

Jesus was an example for us to live in all the fullness of God, all His blessing and promises. When this simple truth gets down into the hearts of terminally ill people, even though their doctors of medical science say they would die, they will live!

Some for years.  So how does this simple truth get down into our hearts?  We accepted the truth.  We meditated on it.  We speak it over and over to ourselves until it registered on the inside of us.

Through the ministry of Christ upon the earth, God our Father revealed that it is His will to heal man spiritually, physically, mentally.  In redemption, God broke the power of sin and disease over mankind and set him free by laying sin and sickness upon Christ. Amen!

John 14:13-14, And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.

Because our sin, disease and sickness (spiritually, mentally, physically) were laid upon Christ, we are healed and free.  Do we accept this truth, that Jesus bore our sin, disease and sickness. Then with your own voice confess that you are healed and made whole in Jesus Names. Amen!
